Embassy of the USA in Mongolia and “Wheat Foundation” provided financial assistance for establishing an “Information and Service center of Gobi region”.

Mrs. Pamela.J.Slutz, the Ambassador of the USA in Mongolia with delegates from “Wheat Foundation” and USAID visited the National Center Against Violence and signed an agreement to provide a financial assistant for establishing and “Information and Service center of Gobi region” in Mandalgobi.

The Ambassador has pointed out “That support is gift from American people which was first initiated by the USAID and supported by “Wheat Foundation”.

The Information and service center, supposed to provide services to 4 provinces including Dundgobi, Umnugobi, and Gobisumber provinces,  and will provide sanctuary to those facing threaten and danger for their health and lives and provide counseling to them. Also it will be provide family education and raise their awareness in preventing from violence.

There has been only one shelter house under NCAV in Mongolia, now it is establishing a shelter house in the local area. It is the first step to the establishment of the network of shelter houses. August.2004.
