Trafficking of Women Remains Widespread in Serbia

Amnesty International reports that women and girls continued to be trafficked for the purposes of forced prostitution. Anti-trafficking legislation was passed by Serbia in April 2003. Seventy-three criminal charges have been filed under the new legislation, but no trials completed.
