Contributed by: Vilana Sotirovic-Pilinkaite, Lithuania National VAW Monitor The Ministry of Social Security and Labour declared in the Report that women's employment in Lithuania has already reached 61% and corresponds to the requirements of the Lisbon strategy. Also, the officials of the Ministry are very enthusiastic about the progress made in the employment of adult rural women and women who were out of the labor market due to reproduction and maternity duties. Lithuania holds second place in EU in the field of women's employment where women have children under 12 years. And, women leaders comprise 43%, which also shows a very high position among the other EU countries,
