Bulgaria needs a police force that investigates, and all policemen in the country should be allowed to launch investigations, Interior Minister Rumen Petkov told Darik News.

Police in Bulgaria have already helped Interpol in the busts of 20 channels for people and drug trafficking, he added.

The EC is right to ask Bulgaria for a zero tolerance policy on corruption, as this is something the country really needs, and the government realizes that, Petkov said. Still, no one should ask a country of law to cover some kind of quota, the Minister pointed out.
