Radio-television station B92 initiated fund-raising action (the campaign “For our children”) to build a new shelter for women and children – victims of domestic violence. Around 30 women and children will be accommodated in the new shelter (220 square meters) in Belgrade. According to plans, the shelter will be opened for clients in April 2007, and another shelter should be built at the same location in the future. Once the building is finalized, the shelter will be run by women’s NGO Counseling Center against Family Violence (www.savetovaliste.com). It is also planned to expand the project to other cities in Serbia.
