16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence

November 25-December 10, 2007

The 16 Days Campaign brings together activists to share their experiences in the area of women's rights advocacy. The Campaign first took place in 1991 and since then has concentrated on prevention of violence against women. In 2007, the organizers will focus on overcoming obstacles to women’s human rights advocacy. Some of the goals that were identified include increasing funding to prevent violence against women; securing greater commitment on the part of states; raising awareness among men and boys and engaging them to help prevent violence against women.
