• The Committee expressed appreciation for the establishment of mechanisms to deal with children's issues and rights, progress in the field of law reform to promote and protect children's rights, the adoption of national programs seeking effective implementation of children's rights, and the creation of a voluntary fund to support children. The Committee recommended that the Ukraine Government strengthen the coordination between the different governmental mechanisms concerned with children's rights at the national and local levels. The Committee expressed concern over high rate of abandonment of children, the health status of children, and administration of juvenile justice.
