Gender Statistics Shortly Before Montenegrin Elections – Prepared by Aleksandar Sasa Zekovic

Female candidates for municipal presidents (mayors): just 3 women, in 13 municipalities, have been nominated for these front positions of the names on the local committee members’ lists:

  • 1 member in front of the Social-Democratic Party (SDP) in Kolasin, 
  • 1 list leader in front of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and SDP in Pluzine, and
  • 1 committee member is list leader in front of the Serbian Nation’s Party (SNS) in Zabljak.

Women on the list for representative in the State Parliament:

  • Serbian list: out of the total number, there were 8 or 9.87% women, and women are placed at the 29, 33, 34, 55, 57, 61, 62 and 73rd place on the representatives’ list.
  • Democratic Party of Montenegro (DSCG): out of the total number of persons on the list, there are 10 or 14.70% of women, and women are ranged at the 2, 8, 9, 12, 24, 25, 30, 35, 44 and 66th place on the representatives’ list.
  • Liberal Party of Montenegro and Bosnian Party: out of total number, there are 22 or 27.16% of women. Of the first 15 persons on the list, 3 of them are women.
  • Coalition for European Montenegro (Milo Djukanovic) DPS, SDP: out of the total number of persons, there were less then 15% women. There are no women among the first 15 places on the list. The first woman is placed at the 19th place, and then follows 22, 30, 36, 55, etc.
  • Socialistic People’s Party, People’s Party and Democratic Serbian Party (SNP, NS and DSS): out of the total number persons on the list, a bit more than 17% are women. The first woman is placed at 15th place, and the next one at the 30th place.
  • Movement for changes (PZP): out of the total number of persons on at the list, there are 15 women in total, or 18.51%. Of the first 10 persons on the list, 2 of them are women (at the 4th and 6th position).
  • Citizen’s list, Citizen’s Party and Green Party: out of the total number of nominated persons, women present more than 17%. Of first ten on the list, 1 of them is a woman.
  • Forca: the participation of women on their list is approximately 10%. Of the first 10 on the list, 1 is a woman.
  • Coalition of Democratic Alliance in Montenegro and Party for Democratic Prosperity: participation of women on their list is approximately 10%. Of the first 10 on the list, 1 is a woman.
  • Democratic Union of Albanians: out of  the total number of nominated persons (5 in total), 1 is a woman, which represents 20%.
