Double Murder in front of the Court of Hradec Králové

A murderer who killed his girlfriend in his sister’s flat in March 2006 was sent to prison by the Court of Hradec Králové. The woman died of serious knife wounds. An unusually high penalty was assigned because of the man had killed his wife in 1985.

The man is a habitual offender with seven sentences including the most recent murder. In 1985, he killed his wife and was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He left prison after 13 years thanks to amnesty and has lived a relatively calm life up to the fatal day of March 8th 2006.

What happened on that day had two witnesses – the sister of the murderer and her husband, because the murderer himself claimed he could not remember anything. The police found out that the murderer had an argument with his girlfriend after they drank lots of wine. His girlfriend told him that she had wanted to break up. Then he stabbed her with a knife once in the stomach and three times in the back. She died in a short while.

Authorized experts did not find any psychological disorder but did find a strong alcohol addiction. The murderer appealed the judgment, so the case will be heard in the Supreme Court of Prague.
