New Gender Management System in Barbados
Tuesday, August 28, 2007 10:13 AM

In June 2007, Barbados implemented a Gender Management System designed to monitor how government ministries and agencies incorporate gender equality in their work.  The system consists of varying structures, mechanisms, processes and indicators to help government agencies assess and implement the incorporation of gender analysis into their work with a view to facilitating greater gender equality. Two hundred persons here have already been trained in gender awareness and analysis in the fields of education, economic empowerment, poverty reduction and law.  Organizers hope to fully implement the plan by 2008.
