Ombudsman KG has appealed to acting Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Feliks Kulov and to the speaker of Jogorku Kenesh M. Sultanov with a proposal to prohibit abortion under social recommendations without a husband's agreement to do so. An Exception may be made only in a case where a woman has medical indications. This prohibition is only for married women. As the Ombudsman’s press release service notes, similar prohibitions have been approved in many countries.
Tursunbai Bakir uulu considers that relationships between husband and wife have to be based not only on respect, but they have to consolidate their families by making responsible and mutual decisions.
