During the period of 31 December 2005 to 7 January 2006 in Montenegro, six citizens were killed in the most brutal way - Amra Kuc (14 years old) and the entire family of Roganovic, the marital partners and their three minor children.
This was the reason why women’s NGOs initiated and called citizens to protest in order to make an appeal to the system’s institutions and citizens because of the violence and crimes that happen daily.
One more reason for organizing this protest is to send the message to society in general to take more seriously women’s organizations, which are dealing with women and children's human rights and pointing almost daily to the increase of the violence in family.
A one-hour street protest of bitterness and judgment regarding the above mentioned monstrous and cruel murders was held on 11 January 2006 and was organized by following women’s nongovernmental organizations - Montenegrin Women’s Lobby, Women’s group “Stela”, House of Hope, Women for Better Tomorrow, Trauma Center.
