New Report on Needs of Victims of Sexual Violence
Thursday, March 12, 2009 8:37 AM

The organization Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) recently released a report depicting the experiences of victims of sexual violence, as well as those who provide immediate care to victims.

The report focuses on the individual stories of those who have been sexually assaulted, and those who provide medical, counseling, and other types of support services to victims. By sharing these harrowing experiences, MSF hopes to convey the importance of making emergency medical and other services immediately and readily accessible to victims, in order to best assist them in seeking justice against the perpetrator of the assault, attaining psychological support, preventing unwanted pregnancies, and preventing sexually transmitted diseases.
