2015 Trafficking in Persons Report: Belarus, U.S. Department of State, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (June 2015). Annual report that reviews individual state efforts to combat human trafficking including trafficking in women. The 2015 report designates Belarus as a “Tier 3” or lowest tier country based on the country’s failure to meet minimum standards.

Freedom in the World 2015 –Belarus, Freedom House (2015). A measurement of freedom in Belarus under the current political structure, including the right of women to be free from violence and trafficking.

Report of the Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Belarus, Miklós Haraszti, UN Human Rights Council (April 2015). The special rapporteur describes progress and setbacks in human rights law and practice since the last review.

World Report 2015 –Belarus, Human Rights Watch (January, 2015). Report recommends that Belarus adopt legislation on domestic violence.

This report includes sections on rape and domestic violence, female genital mutilation/cutting, sexual harassment, reproductive rights and discrimination against women.

Women Against Violence Europe Report 2014, Women Against Violence Europe (2014). Annual report documenting prevalence of violence against women in Europe and assessing the quality and quantity of services and shelter for women victims of violence. The report includes a profile of Belarus beginning on page 55.

U.N. International Children’s Fund Annual Report 2013: Belarus, UNICEF (2013). Annual report documenting UNICEF’s advocacy and program work in Belarus, including efforts to prevent and combat domestic violence and violence against children in Belarus.

Concluding Observations of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women -Belarus, UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) (December 2011). CEDAW Committee review of the seventh periodic report of Belarus. In its Concluding Observations, the Committee makes multiple recommendations regarding discrimination and violence against women and girls in Belarus.

Concluding Observations of the Committee against Torture: Belarus, UN Committee against Torture (CAT) (December 2011). Committee against Torture review of fourth periodic report of Belarus. The Committee’s Concluding Observations recommend that Belarus adopt comprehensive laws and policies to prevent violence against women and domestic violence.
