A network of women’s NGOs in Montenegro organized street action on April 6, 2007, at 12 o’clock in Hercegovacka Street in Podgorica.

As women’s NGOs are commenting, on that day, a 4-year long blockade of Sarajevo in 1992 has started. The war in Bosnia and Herzegovina started with a lot of bustling and support provided from Montenegro. Politicians and war operatives are still here; they are still in decision-making positions. Their intentions are to deny gained human rights in Montenegro and to carry out wrongful acts.

For those reasons, on April 6, the network have continued the campaign for resignation of the President of the Parliamentary Committee for Gender Equality until they gather 6.000 citizen’s signatures.

The network of women’s NGOs in Montenegro are sending the following words:

  • We do not stand behind the evil committed in the name of all of us. We ask for their responsibility!
  • We do not stand behind the taking away of women’s freedom in Montenegro. We ask for women’s rights for women!
  • WE WILL NOT FORGET. THOSE WHO CANNOT DEAL WITH REMEMBRANCE AND FACE WITH HIS/HER OWN PAST, HE/SHE IS DOOMED TO REPEAT IT!
