The National Action Plan of Tajik Government on Fighting Traffic for 2005-2010 was developed and sent out for approval to the Ministries and Departments of Tajikistan. This was announced by the Deputy Director of Defense and Law-Enforcement Department under the Executive Apparatus of the President, Secretary of the Interdepartmental Commission on Trafficking, Radjabali Tolibov. According to him, the development of the National Action Plan is closely connected with the adoption of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its additional Protocols.

“Therefore, it was necessary to develop a roundup government plan of action against this problem,” said Tolibov.  He emphasized that the plan included organizational and legal measures to step up efforts for fighting this negative development, measures on the psychological and social rehabilitation of traffic victims, as well as other measures stemming from international legal acts on trafficking.

Tolivbov added that representatives of a number of international organizations took part in developing the National Plan of Action.
