The RA National Assembly has ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women

Today the RA National Assembly has ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
According to the RA Minister of Justice David Haroutyunyan, the aim of the Protocol is creation of effective bodies aimed to strengthen the struggle against discrimination of women.

The Protocol envisages the creation of a special committee that would collect written and not anonymous information from the victims related to a state that has signed the Protocol.

The Protocol also enables the committee to organize visits appropriate countries.
