Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict  was ratified on 7 April 2004.

ILO Convention No. C182 Concerning the Prohibition & Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour: Ratified on 14 June 2002.

Convention relating to the Status of Refugees: Acceded to on 31 January 2002 with declarations and reservations. Entered into force on 1 May 2002. The Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees was ratified on the same date.

Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography were signed on 8 February 2002.

Optional Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (Supplementing the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime, which is not in force): Signed on 14 December 2000 (PDF, 12 pages).

Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court: Signed on 8 September 2000.

ILO Convention No. 29 Convention Concerning Forced Labour or Compulsory: Ratified on 23 March 2000.

ILO Convention No. 100 Equal Remuneration Convention: Ratified on 23 March 2000.

ILO Convention No. C111 Discrimination (Employment & Occupation) Convention: Ratified on 12 August 1996.
