International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: Acceded to on 1 May 1997 with no reservations and entered into force on 1 August 1997. The Optional Protocol was acceded to on 1 May 1997 with no reservations and entered into force on 1 August 1997. The Second Optional Protocol was acceded to on 11 January 2000 with no reservations. Entered into force on 11 January 2000.

International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Acceded to on 1 May 1997 with no reservations. Entered into force on 1 August 1997.

Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women: Acceded to on 1 May 1997 with no reservations. Entered into force on 31 May 1997. No action has been taken on the Optional Protocol.

International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination: Acceded to on 29 September 1994 with no reservations. Entered into force on 29 October 1994.

Convention on the Rights of the Child: Acceded to on 20 September 1993 with no reservations and entered into force on 19 October 1993. The Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography has neither been signed nor ratified. The Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict has neither been signed nor ratified.

Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment: Acceded to on 25 June 1999 with no reservations and entered into force on 25 July 1999. No action has been taken on the Optional Protocol.

International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families: No action has been taken.

Convention relating to the Status of Refugees: Acceeded to on 2 March 1998 with no reservations. Entered into force on 31 May 1998. The Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees was ratified on the same date. 

Supplementary Convention on the Abolition of Slavery, the Slave Trade, and Institutions and Practices Similar to Slavery: Acceeded to on 1 May 1997 with no reservations. Entered into force on 1 May 1997. 

Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children: No action has been taken.

Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court: No action has been taken.

ILO C29 Forced Labour Convention: Ratified on 15 May 1997.

ILO C111 Discrimination (Employment & Occupation) Convention: Ratified on 15 May 1997.

ILO C143 Migrant Workers (Supplementary Provisions) Convention: No action has been taken.

ILO C182 Worst Forms of Child Labour: No action has been taken.
