A Seminar on Data Collection as a prerequisite for effective policies to combat violence against women was organized by the Council of Europe’s Gender Equality and Anti-Trafficking Division of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs in co-operation with the Commission on Equality. As the third of five regional seminars, it was devoted to the importance of data collection for the formulation of effective policies to combat domestic violence. Its aim was to provide a forum to exchange information on various ways in which to collect data as well as how to use such collected data.
