The Stop Violence Against Women website (StopVAW) is a forum for information, advocacy, and change. The site addresses violence against women as one of the most pervasive human rights abuses worldwide. StopVAW provides women's rights advocates with information and advocacy tools focused on ending the most endemic forms of violence against women, including domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and trafficking in persons.

StopVAW Update: The Enforcement Mechanisms in the United Nations section of StopVAW (under International Law) was recently updated.
Visitors will now find the most up-to-date information available on engaging with the UN human rights system, including the Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, the Commission on the Status of Women, and the human rights treaty bodies. The content, while applicable to all issues of human rights, has been tailored to specifically guide advocates working to end violence against women. The website provides comprehensive information on how to submit individual complaints of human rights violations; how to monitor and submit reports on State party compliance with international human rights law; links to relevant UN webpages, treaty text, and concluding observations; and other important resources.
