The center's goal is to support women’s initiatives in the western region of Ukraine and to facilitate the development of cooperation between women’s organizations, professional groups, business persons, scientists and young females. The Center has united women professionals in the fields of Economics and Business, Law and Psychology and Social Welfare. The center also works to raise public awareness about gender issues and women's and children's rights.

The Ukrainian Women’s Fund is non-governmental, non-profit charitable organization founded in 2000. The UWF mission is to assist women and women’s organizations in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus to play and active role in the processes of democratization of society, and to contribute to equality and justice by supporting women’s advancement with financial opportunities. The Fund seeks to:

• Create an effective and sustainable women’s movement in Ukraine, as well as in Moldova and Belarus;
• Develop a culture of social change philanthropy in Ukraine;
• Attract more resources to support women’s initiatives;
• Raise awareness of issues of gender and diversity through education, advocacy, and research;
• Abolish violations of women’s rights.

Halyna Fedkovych, the Center’s Lawyer, will manage the Ukraine STOPVAW country page. Halyna has a strong background in international women's human rights. She has worked in advocacy within women’s organizations since 1997. In 1999, she was a participant of the Legal Fellowship Program of the Network of East-West Women and served her fellowship term at the Harriet Tubman Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Together with other NGO lawyers, she takes part in the analysis and revision of drafts for new Laws of Ukraine concerning women’s rights and gender issues.
