Stop Violence Against Women

The National Violence Against Women Monitor for Slovakia is Fenestra Women's Association. This organization has conducted activities in connection with the worldwide 16-days campaign against gender violence. In 1999 and 2000, Fenestra conducted multimedia projects for the purpose of increasing public awareness about violence against women and a related petition campaign   to the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.

MUDr. Jana Olearnikova, a Program Coordinator with Fenestra, will take the leading role in managing the STOPVAW country page for Slovakia MUDr. Jana Olearnikova has experience in providing legal and social counseling for victims of domestic violence, in translating international documents and working materials from the English language into the Slovak language and in researching in the field of violence against women.  She has participated in WAVE's 2001 Training of Trainers in Vienna focusing on training and awareness raising in the field of violence against women.

Fenestra will be assisted in its National VAW Monitor role by JUDr. Iveta Rajtakova, an Expert Consultant working as a private attorney. JUDr. Iveta Rajtakova has practiced family law for eleven years and has been  consultant of ZZZ Fenestra for five years.  She has participated in the development of new domestic violence legislation for Slovakia.
