  • The Committee made the following suggestions in response to Turkey's fourth and fifth periodic reports:  The State should include a definition of discrimination against women be placed in the country's Constitution; take measures to build shelters that are available to women, as well as educate the public on the immorality of domestic violence; ensure that women are employed in all employment sectors, including the Government; and render acessible basic and higher education for women and girls.
