The idea for a crisis centre for victims of domestic violence to be established in Dimitrovgrad has been proposed by the department in Haskovo city of the Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation. The centre will be established on the second floor of a former hospital and it will provide a temporary shelter for victims.
The centre will serve all areas from the region of Dimitrovgrad, however, people from other areas are also welcomed. With the opening of this institution, 20 work positions will be provided.
In order to remodel the facility, the Foundation, together with the municipality of Dimitrovgrad, will apply for funding through the “Regional Development 2007 – 2013” Operational Program. The application will be discussed by the Regional Parliament on Thursday.
