Today, a play called “Sex for Salary” is to be presented in Youth House, Burgas. The script reveals 3 of the major types of discrimination – ethnic, a job position refusal to women over the age of 45 and violations of the rights of mothers with small children. According to the Bulgarian law, there are 32 types of discrimination which are either direct and indirect.

The main objectives are to change women’s point of view and to show them to how defend their rights by seeking legal protection under the Law on Protection against Discrimination.

The activities of the project are stimulating the active behavior of women, their practical training for self-protection, and clarifying the reasons why women do not seek protection of their rights.

The project anticipates a counseling office for citizens who need legal consultations on this issue. Two experts in labour law – members of “Ikar” Association, will give free consultations.

After six months, a psychologist will prepare a report on the major problems in the 11 cities and it will be presented in front of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination.
