The Committee was concerned over the increase in prostitution and trafficking of persons. The Committee recommended that the government conduct a national study on the sexual exploitation of children and review its legislation to criminalize the offense, while ensuring such laws are drafted in gender-neutral terms. Also, it urged the Tajik government to establish rehabilitation programs for victims as well as training programs for those working with child victims. In addition, the Committee recommended that the government initiate public awareness campaigns to counter gender discrimination, especially in the family.
