Estonian Trafficking Ring Broken in Finland
6/20/2006 12:15 PM

A trafficking ring based in Estonia and serving as many as one thousand clients has been broken by Finish police. The trafficking relationship between Finland and Estonia is well-established given their proximity. In fact, Finland is a popular destination and transit country for sexual trafficking from several former soviet countries where a large market for such exploitation exists. The arrests come on the heels of Finland’s National Action plan to combat human trafficking which it promulgated in March of 2005.
