The Foundation Open Society Institute's Representative office in Montenegro has published “On the Road to the EU / Monitoring Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the Field of Work and Employment in Montenegro and EU Standards in the Area of Gender Equality and Comparative Overview of South-East Europe Countries”
The Publication “On the Road to the EU” has two parts: Monitoring Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the field of work and employment in Montenegro, prepared by Nina Vujović-Krgović i Darko Ćurić, and EU Standards in the area of gender equality and a comparative overview of South-East European countries prepared by Valdet Sale (Albania) and Roksana Tesiu (Romania). The first part of the publication provides a detailed analysis of Montenegrin legislation relevant to the project goals' perspective of the acquis communautaire, while the second part of the publication provides insight into EU directives related to gender equality in the field of employment and gives a summary of the comparative overview of the situation in South-East Europe.
Both reports were prepared as part of the “Bringing the EU Home” Project conducted by Open Society Institute’s Network Women’s Program from New York and Budapest in cooperation with national OSI Foundations and national organizations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro during the 2004–2006 period. The aim of the project was to compare the EU directives on equal opportunities for men and women in the field of work and employment with actual situation in legislation, institutions and practice in all of the above stated project’s participants. Based on the unique methodology, seven monitoring reports were prepared (reports available at www.osim.cg.yu).
The report is attached at the bottom of this page.
