OSCE Anti-trafficking
The OSCE Office in Yerevan assists the Government of Armenia with the implementation of the National Action Plan on prevention of trafficking in human beings, and the development of anti-trafficking legislation and mechanisms to protect and assist victims (the National Referral Mechanism).
Anti-trafficking legislation review
The Office assists in developing a consistent legal framework to criminalize traffickers and protect victims and witnesses. The project started with an analysis of existing and required legislation and is continuing with the review of draft legislation.
Law enforcement and the judiciary
In mid-2005, the Office strengthened co-operation with the General Prosecutor's Office, supporting activities aimed at improving the application of existing legislation. It will organize seminars for prosecutors and judges on experience-sharing.
The National Referral Mechanism
The Office supports the development of a National Referral Mechanism to protect victims and witnesses. Two roundtables have been organized to involve all relevant parties in the process. The first of these discussed the results of the assessment and the second addressed victim identification.
