Presentation of the Monitoring Report “Violence against women – Does the Government Care in Montenegro?”

SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence Podgorica, in cooperation with Governmental Gender Office, and with financial support of the Foundation Open Society Institute – Representative Office in Montenegro, have organized promotion of the Monitoring report “Violence against women – Does the Government care in Montenegro?” on 11 December 2007 in the Hotel “Podgorica.”

The monitoring report contains information on violence against women gathered with the aim to map the situation in Montenegro. The survey methodology used was built upon the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers’ Recommendation No. R (2002) 5 on the protection of women against violence and will serve as a good basis for future analyzes and

activities in the field of protection and prevention from violence against women. At the promotion, the publications were distributed. Development of the monitoring survey has been coordinated by SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence Podgorica in cooperation with Governmental Gender Office, and with financial support of the Foundation Open Society Institute – Representative Office in Montenegro.  

Besides the presentation of the report, the four-year project which SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence Podgorica in cooperation with the Governmental Gender Office is conducting has been presented – maintaining the country page at the STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (STOPVAW) – www.stopvaw.org and its achieved results thus far.
