Support for Projects to Change the Perpetrators' Violent Behavior

The Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania announced that 6 projects on the establishment of men's crisis centers and self-support groups won in the competetion for support under the National Strategy of Reduction of Violence. The total amount of the funding is 100,000 litas (29,000 euros). The priorities for funding included psychological support for perpetrators committed to changing their violent behavior, the establishment of self-support groups, a temporary shelter for perpetrators and social services to overcome crises.

This year was the first time the competition addressed projects for changing the behavior of and crisis management of perpetrators. As a result, the projects of three men's crisis centers and three women's crisis centers won the competition.
