On May 21, a group of activists from Dalga (Wave) Youth Movement held an action of protest near the monument to the "Free Woman" near Nizami metro station. The action was held under the slogans "Freedom to women!" Organizers of the action tried to draw attention to the problem of violence against women in the family, in society and at workplaces. Women are also discriminated against while being admitted to work. These facts were obtained as a result of the monitoring conducted by different NGOs, and particularly "Women's Crisis Center".

In protest against violations of the rights of women, the Dalga activists put nets made of wire on their heads. The action lasted for 20 minutes. Then the action participants stated to march toward the center of the city, but near the monument to Fizuli police dispersed the action's participants.
