The Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the Statistics Agency of Montenegro (MONSTAT) and the Gender Equality Office of the Government of Montenegro organised the workshop entitled “Gender statistics” on 16-18 October 2007.

The workshop was attended by both producers and users of statistics. The aim of the workshop was to identify needed statistics and indicators related to gender equality as well as the improvement of statistics disaggregated by sex.

Very concrete suggestions came out during the two days' work through presentations and practical workshops on how to improve gender statistics and also what data the publication “Women and Men in Montenegro” should contain to be improved. The second edition of the publication is expected in 2008.
