The Advocates for Human Rights and National Center against Violence submitted a joint report to CEDAW for Mongolia's upcoming review at the 63rd session. The parallel report addresses  developments addressing domestic violence in Mongolia, which include the recent criminalization of domestic violence under Mongolia's Criminal Code. In addition, Mongolia's Parliament amended the Petty Offenses Law to include a provision to hold accountable authorities for their responsibilities under the domestic violence law. There still remain several barriers, however, to effective implementation and enforcement of Mongolia's Law to Combat Domestic Violence. In addition, there are barriers for victims seeking divorce and scarce resources available for victims seeking social services and shelter.
