After "Golden Bear" award at Berlin Film Festival in February this year, Jasmila Zbanic’s film "Grbavica" got the main award "Discovery of the year" at the Reykjavik Film Festival 2006 (Reykjavik, September 28th – October 8th 2006).
BH redactor Jasmila Zbanic dedicated her movie Grbavica to advocate for rights of women survivors of war rape in Bosnia and Herzegovina – “For the Dignity of the Survivors”.
The Bosnian premiere of Grbavica was on March 1 at the Zetra Olympic Hall in Sarajevo. To mark the outstanding success of Bosnian directress Jasmila Žbanic at the Berlinale, Grbavica's distributor, Art Servis, and the Deblokada Production Company have, with the assistance of the City of Sarajevo, decided to organize this premiere in the largest venue ever used for a film screening in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This made the premiere open to about four thousand viewers, who will also see the crew of the film during a stage call after the screening.
The complete proceeds from sale of tickets are sent to the campaign “Za dostojanstvo preživjelih" (For the Dignity of the Survivors), as direct support to war rape survivors.
