United Nations General Assembly Emphasizes Violence against Girls

The sixty-second session of the General Assembly of the United Nations highlighted violence against girls in its Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Children: the Girl-Child resolution.  Violence includes sexual assault, sex and labor trafficking, female genital cutting, and domestic violence, among other human rights violations. It urges states to provide various forms of support for victims and survivors.
