The Canadian government should conduct a national inquiry into the high rate of lethal violence against indigenous women and girls in Canada, according to a new reportreleased by the Legal Strategy Coalition on Violence Against Indigenous Women. The report is a comprehensive review of fifty-eight previous studies into missing and murdered aboriginal Canadian women that span more than twenty years. The new report found that despite the large number of studies looking into the problem, the Canadian government has consistently failed to implement multiple and repeated recommendations about how to address violence against indigenous women and girls.
