The international network, Women Living Under Muslim Laws submitted a report on child, early and forced marriage to the UN Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights on December 13, 2013. The first section of the report provides background information on forced marriage. The second section provides information on the practice in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Nigeria, Senegal, and Sudan (North Sudan). The report includes nine recommendations, beginning with the recommendation that forced and early marriage must be criminalized consistent with international human rights standards.
