Council of Europe: "Parliaments United in Combating Domestic Violence Against Women"
Wednesday, July 5, 2006 4:10 PM

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will launch a pan-European campaign to combat domestic violence against women entitled: "Parliamentary United in Combating Domestic Violence Against Women."  This will be part of the larger goal to end violence against women.  The campaign hopes to condemn domestic violence as a human rights violation, create a debate to help fight domestic violence, and encourage national parliaments to become actively involved in preventing and remedying domestic violence.  More information is detailed in the rapporteur's official report regarding the campaign.
