United Families International (UFI) recently published an article portraying the annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) conference at the United Nations as a radical gathering that undermines family-centered values. It labels the 6,000 feminists attending as “radical” and frames their advocacy for gender equality, reproductive rights, and comprehensive sexuality education as harmful. The piece presents feminist goals as a means to dismantle families rather than advance women's rights and autonomy; especially when feminist groups threaten the family structure by pushing vague language like "sexual and reproductive health and rights" and "sexual rights." Relatedly, the UFI and other groups have advocated for language clarification of the word "gender" to ensure the traditional understanding of this term. To further enhance its efforts, UFI is hosting a side event, the Conference on the Status of Women and the Family, to reinforce its opposition to feminist advocacy.
