For more than a year, the militant group Boko Haram has systematically kidnapped and raped hundreds of women and girls in northeastern Nigeria. As the Nigerian military continues its fight against Boko Haram, aid workers in Nigeria say rescued women and girls are reporting similar stories of organized and repeated sexual violence perpetrated by Boko Haram militants. Many women and girls are pregnant and suffer severe physical and psychological trauma. Many believe they cannot return home.
