This Moth-style storytelling event will bring together court observers, community members, advocates, and partners to share powerful personal stories on the theme, "Honoring the Power of Communities." Together, we'll reflect on how storytelling deepens understanding, honors dignity, and moves systems toward meaningful change.
Doors will open at 6:00 PM, allowing time to check in, enjoy light refreshments and snacks, connect with fellow community members, and find your seat before the storytelling program begins at 6:30 PM.
The Advocates for Human Rights is an internationally recognized human rights organization working to ensure all people live with dignity, freedom, justice, equality, and peace. We believe that everyone has the power to defend human rights and we engage thousands of volunteers every year in hands-on human rights work. Our immigration court monitoring project launched in 2017 to identify, bring visibility to, and end systemic human rights violations in immigration proceedings. Since then, volunteer observers have documented over 30,000 hearings at Fort Snelling Immigration Court.
Witness for Justice is a volunteer-led national initiative that trains and mobilizes community members to serve as legal observers in immigration courts-shining light on due process violations and centering truth, transparency, and human dignity.
Join us for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and community as we celebrate the power of witnessing, remembering, and acting together. We welcome you to share this invitation within your networks.
