Bill on Equal Rights Introduced in Kazakhstan
Thursday, January 4, 2007 12:02 PM

In early November 2006, a group of  deputies within the Majilis, or Kazakh Parliament, introduced and had accepted a Bill on Equal Rights and Opportunities of Women and Men.  The Bill is important since there has been no legal act available to guarantee gender equality. It is meant to ensure equality for both genders in labor, education, science and "other areas of public and political life."
