In late August 2007, Cambodia welcomed the passage of a bill to address the trafficking of women and children within its borders. The law is aimed at reducing human labor and sex trafficking, protecting human rights of trafficked individuals, and providing for the healthcare and welfare needs of trafficked individuals.
Cambodian human rights organizations have welcomed this legislation and hope that it will help tackle Cambodia’s trafficking problem.
