Campaign to Protect Human Rights Advocates in Serbia
Monday, June 25, 2007 1:29 PM

Serbian organizations have initiated a campaign urging Serbia, nongovernmental organizations and the United Nations (UN) to protect Serbian women who defend human rights. According to the campaign, those at greatest risk include women who are critical of past Serbian governments and those who advocate for sexual minorities. The campaign is led by the Women in Black Network, the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights and the Anti-Trafficking Center, and has the support of at least fourteen other human rights organizations.
