On February 8, 2007, Liz Claiborne Inc. and the National Domestic Violence Hotline launched a 24-hour national website and hotline created especially to help teens who are experiencing dating abuse, www.loveisrespect.org.  The telephone number of the hotline is 866-331-9474, and it is free of charge.

The website is unique in that it is the first interactive site where teens can get assistance immediately in a private chat room, which is staffed by trained advocates.

Liz Claiborne Inc.gave a multi-year and million dollar grant to fund both the hotline and the website as an example of their commitment to help end teen dating abuse in the US.  Both the hotline and the website will be operated by the National Domestic Violence Hotline, a project of the Texas Council on Family Violence in Austin, Texas, which provides hotline service including information, referral and interventions to domestic violence victims of all ages, 24 hours per day, each day of the year, in over 150 different languages.
