Monday, May 14, 2007 11:01 AM

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) has created anti-trafficking training materials for judges and prosecutors, entitled Elaboration and Implementation of Anti-Trafficking Training Modules for Judges and Prosecutors in EU Member States, Accession and Candidate Countries. The materials are a module applicable across Europe based on relevant EU and international standards including the provisions and definitions of the UN anti-trafficking protocol (Palermo, 2000) and the EU framework decision of 19 July 2002. One of the goals of the project is to standardize the anti-trafficking response across Europe. The material provides information for judges and prosecutors, as well as guidance for practitioners who may come into contact with victims. The materials have three sectinos:
  1. Background Reader
  2. Handbook (summary of the reader)
  3. Curriculum (designed for trainers to supplement the Reader and Handbook)
