The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) released a new handbook for practitioners in the field of ending violence against women. The handbook is a collection of effective practices when working to end violence against women in different cultural settings. The handbook is based on the centrality of cultural understandings and meanings of violence against women. The case studies that serve as the basis for the handbook include projects from:Bangladesh, Colombia,Ghana, Kenya, Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Romania, Sierra Leone and Turkey.
The handbook guides practitioners through the process of addressing violence against women in a culturally appropriate manner and practical considerations for implementing change.
