New Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons

Ms. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo took over the post of Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children, on August 1, 2008.  Ms. Ezeilo, born in Nigeria, was appointed to a three-year term at the sixtieth session of the Commission on Human Rights.  As Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children, Ms. Ezeilo will visit countries, work with other United Nations Special Rapporteurs, and prepare annual reports on trafficking as a major human rights concern.
